ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Institute canceled for 2012.
The Department of Exercise Science in the School of Public Health and Health Services invites interested students to participate in this unique 12-day residential program designed for those hoping to become yoga teachers. GW is a registered Yoga Teachers School, and one of only three universities in the country to offer the opportunity to become certified to teach yoga while pursuing a degree.
The program meets the requirements set forth by Yoga Alliance® for their 200 hour yoga teacher certification and leads to Yoga Alliance 200 RYT. Students will be required to complete 20 hours of practicum mentored by Exercise Science faculty in order to receive Yoga Alliance 200 hour certificate. Students are fully immersed in the yoga lifestyle and keep with the philosophy and culture throughout the program. Housing and 3 meals per day are included (vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available).
