Financial Aid Financial aid for the Summer Sessions is limited to federal student loans (Stafford and PLUS) and other non-Federal loan programs. In general, students must attend at least half-time in degree programs to be eligible. Students are urged to contact our Office of Student Financial Assistance, Rice Hall, Room 310, 2121 Eye St. NW, as early as possible to learn of possible loans and application procedures. This office may be reached at (202-994-6620) or www.gwu.edu/~fellows/sfa.html Veterans Educational Benefits The GW Veterans Affairs Office (VAO) coordinates the receipt of benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) by qualified students under the post-Vietnam Veteran's Educational Assistance Program, the Montgomery GI BILL-Active Duty and Selected Reserve Educational Assistance Programs, the Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program, and the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. The VA certifies student enrollment, attendance, and progress for each semester so that educational benefits can be paid by the DVA. Students entering or transferring into GW and planning to use their VA benefits should either obtain the necessary application materials directly from the DVA, or request them in writing through the VAO. It is advisable to allow the DVA 60 days to process the initial and transfer applications. To certify enrollment, the VAO requires formal and imminent admission into a program of study, either by written acknowledgment of eligibility from the DVA or the original completed application materials. All students are required to submit a copy of their initial GW billing or other printed class schedule to the VAO each semester to continue benefits. All submissions and requests may be mailed, faxed, or dropped off with "ATTN: VA" visible. The VAO is located in the Office of Student Financial Assistance, Rice Hall, 3rd Floor, 2121 Eye Street, NW; telephone 202-994-7863; FAX 202-994-0906.
