The Cloyd Heck Marvin Center provides students, faculty, staff, and alumni access to the hub of campus life, through a wide range of facilities and services. An extensive renovation for the building has recently been completed, making all entrances fully accessible for the building from H Street, I Street, and 21st Street. Restrooms, public telephones, and baby-changing stations are also located throughout the building. For additional information call 202-994-7470 or see departments below. The Marvin Center is open from 7 a.m. to midnight daily. GW Bookstore Located on the ground floor of the Marvin Center, the Bookstore provides books, a variety of GW apparel, greeting cards, and residential accessories. Summer Hours of operation are 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Hours are extended to 7 p.m. on certain days at the beginning of each session (please contact Bookstore at 202-994-6870 for specific dates). The Bookstore is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation Conference Center Located on the third floor, the Cafritz Conference Center features six conference room facilities, available in several different set-up styles to accommodate a variety of events. The 104-seat state-of-the-art amphitheater allows Internet access from every seat, audio-visual projection, and an in-room sound system, available for breakout sessions or smaller plenary meetings. The two ballrooms are suitable for meetings, workshops, and a variety of special occasions including weddings, receptions, graduation or birthday parties. Each ballroom has built-in projection and sound systems. Additional spaces in the Conference Center include a registration and lobby area, and an outdoor terrace perfect for receptions. Dining Services J Street food court, located on the first floor of the Marvin Center, is a multistation eatery with something for everyone. Your favorite brand name items are available from a variety of vendors. You'll be sure to find something to suit your taste, whether you're looking for a light breakfast, a quick sandwich, or a complete dinner of American, Asian, or Italian cuisine. It's the perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee in the spacios dining area, enjoy a meal with friends, or grab something to go. Hippodrome A popular student hangout located on the fifth floor, the "Hippo" houses a cyber-lounge, student art display cases, Dine-a-Vision Cafe and television lounge, twelve lanes of bowling, billiards, ping-pong, foosball, video arcade, the Wall of Fame, and the Excellence in Student Life Awards. Additionally, versatile space provides for student programming around spirit events for GW Athletics and other sporting events, dances, poetry readings, and a variety of other possibilities. Parking Garage The underground parking garage is available from the H Street side of the building, between 21st and 22nd Streets, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until midnight. Student Activities Center The Student Activity Center offers programs, services, and facilities that foster the social and cultural development of the University. Staff members assist individual students and campus organizations with program coordination of campus events, and oversight of Greek Affairs, Colonial Inauguration, Community Service, Spirit Programs, Special Events, Student Organizations, and Leadership Development. Ticketmaster Located on the ground floor, the Ticketmaster outlet also offers GW parking tickets and locker rentals.
